Ranked among the top engineering schools in Canada, the Schulich School of Engineering is located in the country’s engineering capital at the University of Calgary. With over 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 160 faculty members and 36 internationally recognized research chairs, the Schulich School of Engineering is known for its commitment to innovation and international excellence. Schulich was ranked first in Canada for teaching sustainable engineering. As part of the University’s Eyes High strategy, the Schulich School is currently undergoing a $142.5 million expansion and renovation project, which will create more space for improving engineering education for future students and faculty.
The Antje Graupe Pryor Foundation was established by the late Werner H. Graupe, shortly following the passing of his daughter Antje. The Foundation aims to promote travel and study abroad by providing financial assistance to engineering students who wish to pursue international studies. Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has awarded over $3.5 million to students through its partner universities. The Foundation further supports environmentally sustainable engineering projects. With the support of the Antje Graupe Pryor Foundation, the University of Calgary Solar Car Team is able to provide students with possibilities to apply their knowledge and develop hands-on experience.

Located at the heart of the University campus in the MacEwan Student Centre, the University of Calgary Students’ Union (SU) serves to represent, protect and advocate for over 25,000 undergraduate students. Currently governed by 23 elected executive members and faculty representatives, the SU addresses important student issues concerning quality of education, quality of student life, and affordability and accessibility. The SU organises many student services, entertainment events, and awareness efforts. Further, the SU oversees nearly 300 student clubs, which provide opportunities for students to pursue extracurricular interests, improve leadership skills, and make a positive contribution in local and global communities.
